Promoting Clinical Excellence in Individuals and Workplaces
Elevating Clinical Practice
At That Music Therapy Lot, we provide rigorous clinical supervision to support individuals, whilst also offering advice and guidance to workplaces on how to promote greater clinical efficacy.
Almost all clinicians do excellent work. Where things drop off is in how they report on that work. Through both supervision and institutional support, we work to provide you with the answers to the question; how is your clinical work having an impact?

A Process-Based Approach to Supervision
We utilise a process-based model of supervision, heavily informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Just as we strive to build psychological flexibility in our clients, we work to cultivate the same flexibility in our supervisees.
Through an ACT-informed lens, supervision becomes a space to:
-
Safely explore the thoughts, feelings, and behavioural urges that arise when working with highly complex cases.
-
Develop the capacity to remain grounded, observant, and responsive in the “here and now” of the therapy room.
-
Clarify what truly matters to you as a clinician and take committed action toward your career and service development goals.
-
Navigating the intricate clinical dynamics of supporting young people with profound transitional challenges, severe anxiety, and trauma-rooted behavioural responses.
-
Guiding clinicians in the practical, rigorous application of psychological frameworks - such as ACT, RFT, or DBT - within creative and music-centred therapy.
-
Supporting therapists who are stepping into senior roles, developing new clinical services, or advocating for the profession within larger multidisciplinary teams and educational strategies.
-
Providing guidance on implementing robust data collection and clinical tools - including SECAT® - to clearly demonstrate the efficacy of process-based interventions to stakeholders.
Who We Work With
Whether you are a recently qualified practitioner looking to establish a secure clinical foundation, an experienced therapist wanting to integrate advanced psychological frameworks and transition into service leadership, or an organisation looking to roll-out psychological, process-based supervision to their team to ensure wellbeing; our supervision space is designed to challenge and support you.
Data and Outcomes
We support workplaces and individuals to promote clinical data and outcomes. This work has led to the creation of SECAT™ - a groundbreaking way of tracking Creative Arts Therapy interventions.
At the core of our philosophy when working with institutions is making your data work for you, not having you work for your data. This means a ground-up approach to evaluate how data is handled, documented, and reported.
